Custom Pool Builder in Cave Creek, AZ

Cave Creek is close to home for Overflow Pool Construction & Repair, which is based in north Phoenix. We design and build custom pools, spas and water features for Cave Creek properties, and we remodel and repair existing pools throughout the area.

Cave Creek backyards are rarely flat or simple, and that is where experience counts. Dane Palmero has been designing and building pools since 1982 and plans every project around the land it sits on.

Overflow Pools handles the whole life of a pool in Cave Creek, from the first design to remodels and repairs years later. Our full list of pool services includes:

• New custom pools and spas, designed in 3-D before construction, including vanishing edges, sun shelves and spools
• Pool remodeling: plaster, pebble and mini pebble finishes, waterline tile, coping and decking such as travertine, flagstone and Kool Deck
• Water and fire features: sheer descents, natural rock waterfalls, bubblers and fire bowls
• Equipment and repair: variable speed pumps, filters, heaters and heat pumps, LED lighting, valves and automation
• Outdoor living: BBQs and outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fire pits

Cave Creek lots are often large, sloped and rocky, with granite boulders, desert washes and native vegetation. Excavation can mean working through hard rock and caliche, and access for equipment needs to be planned before the first day of digging.

The setting also shapes the design. Natural rock waterfalls, desert-toned decking and boulders placed to look like they belong are a better fit here than anything that fights the landscape, and we design with the views and the native plants in mind.

Overflow Pool Construction & Repair is owned by Dane Palmero, who began in the pool industry in 1978 as an underwater pool repair specialist and has designed and built pools since 1982. He personally designs every project and is the author of the Ultimate Pool Buyers Guide.

Our work has earned a World’s Greatest Pools award, and we were chosen to build the custom big cat pools for the Phoenix Zoo, a project you can read about in No Kitty Pool: A Builder Tackles the Big Cats.

Is rocky ground a problem for building a pool in Cave Creek?

It adds work but it is very common. Rock and caliche can require heavier excavation equipment, so we evaluate the site during the consultation and reflect it in the plan and proposal.

Do I need a permit to build a pool in Cave Creek?

Yes. New pools in Cave Creek require a building permit and inspections through the Town of Cave Creek, along with a compliant pool safety barrier before the pool is filled. We plan for those requirements as part of the design.

How long does it take to build a pool in Cave Creek?

It depends on the design, the site and the permitting and inspection schedule. We give you a realistic timeline with your proposal, before any work starts.

Do you repair pool equipment in Cave Creek?

Yes. We repair and replace pumps, motors, filters, heaters and heat pumps, lights, valves and automation systems such as AquaLink, IntelliTouch and EasyTouch, and we find and fix leaks.

Yes, through our sister company Simply Fun Pools, which offers a range of fixed-plan pools built by the same team. For custom designs and water features, Overflow Pools handles the project.
