Custom Pool Builder in Gilbert, AZ

Gilbert is a town of family neighborhoods and backyards built for being outdoors, and a pool is often the centerpiece. Overflow Pool Construction & Repair designs and builds custom pools and spas in Gilbert, and remodels and repairs pools that are ready for an upgrade.

Every project is designed by Dane Palmero, who has been in the pool industry since 1978 and uses 3-D renderings so you can see your backyard before construction starts.

Overflow Pools handles the whole life of a pool in Gilbert, from the first design to remodels and repairs years later. Our full list of pool services includes:

• New custom pools and spas, designed in 3-D before construction, including vanishing edges, sun shelves and spools
• Pool remodeling: plaster, pebble and mini pebble finishes, waterline tile, coping and decking such as travertine, flagstone and Kool Deck
• Water and fire features: sheer descents, natural rock waterfalls, bubblers and fire bowls
• Equipment and repair: variable speed pumps, filters, heaters and heat pumps, LED lighting, valves and automation
• Outdoor living: BBQs and outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fire pits

Most Gilbert homes are in HOA communities, so plan approval is usually the first step after design. Families often ask for sun shelves for young children, spas that double as a warm soak in winter, and a safety barrier that works with the way the backyard is used.

Water features are another common request: sheer descents from a raised wall, bubblers on a sun shelf, or fire and water bowls on pedestals. They add movement and sound without needing a large yard.

Overflow Pool Construction & Repair is owned by Dane Palmero, who began in the pool industry in 1978 as an underwater pool repair specialist and has designed and built pools since 1982. He personally designs every project and is the author of the Ultimate Pool Buyers Guide.

Our work has earned a World’s Greatest Pools award, and we were chosen to build the custom big cat pools for the Phoenix Zoo, a project you can read about in No Kitty Pool: A Builder Tackles the Big Cats.

What safety barrier does a Gilbert pool need?

Every new pool needs a compliant safety barrier before it can be filled, and the exact requirements are set by the town’s building codes. We include the barrier in the design so it works with your yard and passes inspection.

Do I need a permit to build a pool in Gilbert?

Yes. New pools in Gilbert require a building permit and inspections through the Town of Gilbert, along with a compliant pool safety barrier before the pool is filled. We plan for those requirements as part of the design.

How long does it take to build a pool in Gilbert?

It depends on the design, the site and the permitting and inspection schedule. We give you a realistic timeline with your proposal, before any work starts.

Do you repair pool equipment in Gilbert?

Yes. We repair and replace pumps, motors, filters, heaters and heat pumps, lights, valves and automation systems such as AquaLink, IntelliTouch and EasyTouch, and we find and fix leaks.

Yes, through our sister company Simply Fun Pools, which offers a range of fixed-plan pools built by the same team. For custom designs and water features, Overflow Pools handles the project.
