Planning a Pool on a Paradise Valley Lot
Most residential lots in the Town of Paradise Valley are at least an acre, and homes on the slopes of Camelback Mountain and Mummy Mountain fall under the town’s hillside building regulations. Hillside sites often call for engineered walls, careful grading and a design that respects the natural terrain.
On a large lot the pool is rarely the only project. We regularly design the pool together with the spa, fire features, outdoor kitchen and shade structures so the whole backyard reads as one plan rather than a series of add-ons.
Why Paradise Valley Homeowners Work With Overflow Pools
Overflow Pool Construction & Repair is owned by Dane Palmero, who began in the pool industry in 1978 as an underwater pool repair specialist and has designed and built pools since 1982. He personally designs every project and is the author of the Ultimate Pool Buyers Guide.
Our work has earned a World’s Greatest Pools award, and we were chosen to build the custom big cat pools for the Phoenix Zoo, a project you can read about in No Kitty Pool: A Builder Tackles the Big Cats.

Yes. Hillside pools need engineering and planning for grading, retaining walls and drainage. We account for the town’s hillside requirements during design so there are no surprises at permitting.
