Custom Pool Builder in Phoenix, AZ

Overflow Pool Construction & Repair is based in north Phoenix, and Phoenix is where most of our work happens, from new custom pools in the north Valley to remodels of decades-old pools in established central neighborhoods. Owner Dane Palmero has worked in the Phoenix pool industry since 1978 and has been designing and building pools here since 1982.

Whether you are starting with a bare backyard or an older pool that needs new life, we design around how you actually use the space: shade from the summer sun, room to entertain, and water features you will enjoy year after year.

Overflow Pools handles the whole life of a pool in Phoenix, from the first design to remodels and repairs years later. Our full list of pool services includes:

• New custom pools and spas, designed in 3-D before construction, including vanishing edges, sun shelves and spools
• Pool remodeling: plaster, pebble and mini pebble finishes, waterline tile, coping and decking such as travertine, flagstone and Kool Deck
• Water and fire features: sheer descents, natural rock waterfalls, bubblers and fire bowls
• Equipment and repair: variable speed pumps, filters, heaters and heat pumps, LED lighting, valves and automation
• Outdoor living: BBQs and outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fire pits

Phoenix is a big city with very different lots. Newer homes in north Phoenix often sit on desert lots where excavation runs into caliche and rock, while older neighborhoods closer to the urban core tend to have mature trees, tighter access and pools that are ready for a full remodel. Each situation changes the plan, the equipment needed to dig, and the budget.

New pools in Phoenix are permitted and inspected through the City of Phoenix, and every pool needs a compliant safety barrier before it can be filled. We plan the barrier, equipment location and access route into the design from the start, so the drawings you approve are drawings that can actually be built.

Overflow Pool Construction & Repair is owned by Dane Palmero, who began in the pool industry in 1978 as an underwater pool repair specialist and has designed and built pools since 1982. He personally designs every project and is the author of the Ultimate Pool Buyers Guide.

Our work has earned a World’s Greatest Pools award, and we were chosen to build the custom big cat pools for the Phoenix Zoo, a project you can read about in No Kitty Pool: A Builder Tackles the Big Cats.
