Custom Pool Builder in Glendale, AZ

Glendale has a large number of homes with pools that were built decades ago, alongside newer neighborhoods in the north such as Arrowhead Ranch. Overflow Pool Construction & Repair builds new custom pools in Glendale and specializes in bringing older pools up to date.

From a new interior finish and tile to a full redesign with water features and new decking, every project is planned by Dane Palmero, who has been designing pools in the Valley since 1982.

Overflow Pools handles the whole life of a pool in Glendale, from the first design to remodels and repairs years later. Our full list of pool services includes:

• New custom pools and spas, designed in 3-D before construction, including vanishing edges, sun shelves and spools
• Pool remodeling: plaster, pebble and mini pebble finishes, waterline tile, coping and decking such as travertine, flagstone and Kool Deck
• Water and fire features: sheer descents, natural rock waterfalls, bubblers and fire bowls
• Equipment and repair: variable speed pumps, filters, heaters and heat pumps, LED lighting, valves and automation
• Outdoor living: BBQs and outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fire pits

An older Glendale pool often has good bones but a worn plaster finish, dated tile, cracked decking and equipment that costs more to run than it should. A remodel can address all of it at once, and switching to a variable speed pump is one of the most cost-effective upgrades for an older pool.

For new pools, Glendale lots range from compact suburban yards to larger properties near the Arrowhead area. We design to the space you have, whether that means a full-size pool and spa or a smaller spool that still leaves room for a patio.

Overflow Pool Construction & Repair is owned by Dane Palmero, who began in the pool industry in 1978 as an underwater pool repair specialist and has designed and built pools since 1982. He personally designs every project and is the author of the Ultimate Pool Buyers Guide.

Our work has earned a World’s Greatest Pools award, and we were chosen to build the custom big cat pools for the Phoenix Zoo, a project you can read about in No Kitty Pool: A Builder Tackles the Big Cats.

Is a remodel worth it for an older Glendale pool?

For most structurally sound pools it is. Resurfacing, new tile and coping, new decking and efficient equipment can transform an older pool for far less than a full rebuild.

Do I need a permit to build a pool in Glendale?

Yes. New pools in Glendale require a building permit and inspections through the City of Glendale, along with a compliant pool safety barrier before the pool is filled. We plan for those requirements as part of the design.

How long does it take to build a pool in Glendale?

It depends on the design, the site and the permitting and inspection schedule. We give you a realistic timeline with your proposal, before any work starts.

Do you repair pool equipment in Glendale?

Yes. We repair and replace pumps, motors, filters, heaters and heat pumps, lights, valves and automation systems such as AquaLink, IntelliTouch and EasyTouch, and we find and fix leaks.

Do you offer budget-friendly pools in Glendale?

Yes, through our sister company Simply Fun Pools, which offers a range of fixed-plan pools built by the same team. For custom designs and water features, Overflow Pools handles the project.
